Rose’s Ramblings
Hi, Readers. Welcome to Thursday’s Cabot News. The kids are all excited...the fair has come to town. They love these scary topsy-turvy rides. Ugghhhh...I prefer not to be dangling in midair upside down. Nope...a thrill seeker I certainly am not. <grin> Some dreams that definitely aren’t mine...parachuting from an airplane, bungee jumping, white water rafting, climbing Mount Everest...and such like. Here endeth my ramble...enjoy today’s offerings.
Again, a reminder to you to be careful how you word your a..ds. Filters are picking up sooooo many words and phrases now. If you are a serious marketer, it’s important for you to know these things. I have to edit many of the a~ds I run for co-op customers. Lots of them come in with the ‘f’ word that means you ‘don’t pay anything’ used as many as 5 times in an ~ad~. Filters are even picking up the disguises now, so you must be innovative to get around this. The bottom line is, if your a~ds are filled with triggering words, it prevents newsletters and ezines from reaching the maximum number of readers...which means, in the long run, the advertiser loses...and that’s you. So, readers, be wise...improvise. <smile>

This Week's Healthy Eating Tip -

There's one more very important part of living a healthy
lifestyle, and being able to each whatever you want and
not gain weight. Do you know what it is?
Get active!
Clean the house, take a walk, walk the dog, go swimming,
tubing or water-skiing, don't park in the closest place,
work in the garden... c'mon - summer is too short to
waste indoors! Spend at least half an hour outdoors
every day doing something.
This Week's Healthy Recipe-
Vegetable Kabobs-
4 small red
potatoes, quartered,
2 Medium Zucchini cut into 2 inch pieces,
8 cherry tomatoes, and
1 red onion cut into 1 inch pieces
Alternate vegetables on to 4 skewers.
Brush Kabobs with olive oil
and season with
salt & pepper.
Grill for 9 - 10 minutes or until
golden brown and vegetables are crisp-tender.
Serves 4 normal eaters. In my house probably 2.
Goes great with a grilled chicken breast, or steak.
Add some cut up fruit, or jello, or applesauce for
something cool.

Bill was a frequent user of a pay telephone at a popular truck stop, and was greatly inconvenienced when the phone went out of commission.
Repeated requests for repair brought only promises.
After several days, Bill again contacted the phone company and told them there was no longer a rush. The phone was now working fine... except that all money was being returned upon completion of each call.
A repairman arrived within the hour!
